When Breath Becomes Air
When Breath Becomes Air is an NYT bestseller and is even read and appreciated by Bill Gates. In this book, Dr Paul Kalanithi tells his life’s story in two main threads: how he came to choose, learn, and practice medicine, and how he’s fighting late-stage lung cancer in only his mid-30s. The book is a tale of tribulations and frank reflections. Ultimately there’s not much triumph in it in the traditional sense, but there are a stubborn, quiet resilience and a natural earthiness that endures long after the last word appears.
The first part of the book is about the coming of age of a neurosurgeon and writer. Dr Kalanithi He talks about his upbringing as the child of hardworking Indian immigrant parents and his tenacious and passionate espousal of medicine and literature. He speaks lovingly of his relationship with his remarkable wife (a doctor) who he met in medical school and who played an outsized role in supporting him through everything he went through.
In the second part of the book tells about the devastating tide of disease and death creeps in, here Dr Kalanithi is suddenly transformed from a doctor into a patient. The second part shows the pain that he faces as a patient and being on the other side from the first part and is a valuable book that must be read by every one.

A Brief History of Time is a book by Stephen Hawking, one of the most brilliant theoretical physicists in history. Here Stephen Hawking takes us on a journey from the time when the world believed that Earth was the centre of the universe and supported on the back of a giant tortoise to our age when we know better.
Without the use of any mathematical equation, except the one famous mass-energy equivalence relation by Einstein, he has explained the nature of our universe, from the smallest particles which cannot be seen to the biggest entities, the black holes in a simple language. This book reminds one of how beautiful, fascinating and intriguing our universe is good non-fiction to read.
Atomic habits
If you want to build some good habits and break bad habits, then Atomic Habits by James clear is the perfect book with practical steps and examples.
Here James Clear describes some great key points like Compound Effect which tells that Very small changes over time will have a big impact, Habit Building Techniques which Make good habits into routines, Monitor and Measure that is Keep track of your progress and improvements.
This book does a great job of laying down the framework of how habits are formed and shares insightful strategies for building good habits and breaking bad ones.

The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas by Gertrude Stein
The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas is a book by Gertrude Stein, an influential art collector, writer and socialite which was written in October and November of 1932 and published in 1933.
The book is an engaging and strange book the book is actually about the autobiography of Gertrude Stein but was written from the perspective of her lover Alice Toklas as if it is her autobiography.
The book is a series of anecdotes, of stories. Not just bragging about Stein and Toklas, but a lot about their travels through Europe, about the growth of Stein’s reputation, about the personal relationships of their friends, about life in France during the First World War, about technological developments and about the publishing industry and the political climate at the time. A good book to read.
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank was written in Amsterdam from 1942 – 1944 The novel provides valuable information about the Nazi regime and the horrors the Jews had to face. A beautifully written novel.
The diary Begins on Anne’s 13th birthday when she gets a diary. The diary tells the story of Anne’s family who lives in Frankfurt, Germany and suddenly have to go into hiding as a result of Hitler and the Nazi Party’s treatment of Jews in Europe during the second world war. They escape to Amsterdam where they go into hiding with other Jews. And The diary ends suddenly on 1 August 1944.
Would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in reading historical, war or mystery books. This is a good book, and you must read it ones.
Attitude is everything
Attitude is everything is written by Jeff Keller a well known motivational speaker, The major learning from this book is Even in the worst cases, you have an option to choose your attitude: how’d you respond to that problem. The book is about positive thoughts dominating your negative thoughts. The book is To-the-point with some good examples and quotes by famous men.
The book is divided into 3 parts and 12 lessons. Each part includes various lessons, which are thought-provoking.
The basic message conveyed through these three parts and lessons is – “When you THINK, SPEAK, and ACT in ways that support your success, you’re firing on all cylinders and on the way to achieving phenomenal results in your life.” The book justifies its title ‘ attitude is everything’ through its content. This book is a quick and short read with many valuable lessons.
CONCLUSION
